PTA / PTSA

Moline School District No. 40 is fortunate to have active and involved Parent Teacher Associations or a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at most of our schools in our district. At the high school, a Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) includes students in their activities and membership. In PTA, parents and teachers work together for the benefit of all children. They help form legislation on issues that benefit the health, welfare and education of children. Locally each school chooses activities to fit the needs of their children.

PTA/PTO activities in Moline and Coal Valley may include:

Reading incentive programs, variety/talent shows, children's theater, family fairs, carnivals, voter information sessions about referendums & school board candidates, career days, sponsorship of field trips to museums and cultural events, artist visits, school registration, health screenings, fingerprinting, kindergarten roundup, library help, parenting workshops, science & social studies fairs, 6th & 8th grade recognition activities, citizenship awards, bulletin board and school hallway information sites, school suppers, recycling programs and information, welcome coffees at the beginning and end of school, working with the city council, village board, and the Board of Education on actions that affect children.

Many PTA or PTO members are part of Moline School District No. 40 committees as well.
