Morning Coffee Club

ADVISOR: Mrs. Susie Smice

MEMBERS: Parents/Guardians or signficant adult (friend, community member, teacher....) of a sixth, seventh, and eighth grade student have the opportunity to join the Morning Coffee Club WITH their student.

DESCRIPTION: Morning Coffee Club (MCC) is a book club where parents/guardians (or significant adults) and students read the same book, then come together with other families to talk about the book over some morning refreshments. This activity is a great way for parents and students to share reading together in a fun and relaxed setting.

INVITATIONS: Invitations will be available from Mrs. Smice (Rm. C205) starting Monday, August 20th and need to be returned to her by that Friday, August 24th.

SCHEDULE: Mrs. Smice will order and distribute the novels. Students and adults will have approximately six weeks to read the selected book. They will meet together in the library at 7 a.m. and then break into smaller groups to discuss each book. The Morning Coffee Club will meet to share on the following dates:

• Friday, January 18, 2013
  
• Friday, March 15, 2013
  
• Friday, May 10, 2013
